Our Story

In February of 2023, our journey started as an independent contractor doing piecework for local residential and commercial General Contractors. Establishing our place in the industry. We worked with and for some of the best providers in Grundy County, with a background in building materials and practices, and learned what worked on the jobsite. The word got out, and we started doing our own work under our own name, Watson Solutions Services, in Grundy County. We stated how most do with small projects for friends and family, and as we gained references, qualifications, and cold-hard proof.

We started taking on larger projects and gaining enough of a reputation to get a little freedom on the design. Which we turned into our niche. Crafting truly unique functionality and guaranteeing performance and longevity with our redefined "Better Practices". Today, we are glad to continue building our legacy with profound quality. Reliability. and the versatility of design. crafting options that work for everyone and deliver where our clients need it most.

We are pledged to our commitment to quality and innovation. and our determination to craft sustainable long lasting change for the better in our community's homes and business. As well as providing support and maintenance services for all to rest easy and sleep comfortable

Questions

Why is your labor rate so high?

It absolutely is; it's truly difficult to put a value on the hard work of our skilled tradesmen. However, unlike some of our competitors, we focus on providing extensive benefits for our employees, as well as unparalleled support to our clients, and giving back to the communities we serve.

I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. Deadlines were approaching, contracts were pending, and I stood there waiting for my life to unfold. It never did. There were moments when things got scary, no doubt about it, but there was always a light. Push far enough, work hard enough, and the noise fades. The work clarifies the path.

I was raised by my mother and grandparents at their home south of Morris. I spent my childhood building with whatever I could get my hands on. My grandfather kept a pile of excess lumber for no particular reason, and it became my first lumberyard. I built forts, animal shelters, and anything else my imagination demanded. Lego sets never stayed intact; they were stripped for parts and reengineered into something better.

Growing up, I was surrounded by strong and diverse role models who shared the same principles: helping others with their skills, faith in God and His plan, and a deep commitment to family and country. Faith and compassion carried my family through difficult times, and that foundation has never been forgotten or lost on me.

I grew up intensely curious, sometimes with more confidence than humility, and never afraid to ask questions. I was often told I would become a pastor or a politician because of how I spoke. Through school and organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, I began shaping the principles and traits I still live by today.

I entered an accelerated education program and, at fourteen, began working at Narvick Brothers Lumberyard in Morris, just blocks from home at the time. There, I learned building codes, materials, and real-world practices from seasoned tradesmen who were willing to teach. I built relationships, collected my first tools, and absorbed everything I could.

I graduated early, before my junior year, and went straight to work. Alongside some of the best carpenters and tradesmen in Grundy County, I continued refining my skills, adopting the most efficient methods I had learned.         I studied relentlessly, not to chase perfection, but to eliminate wasted time. If the right tools, clear standards, and proven methods could produce faster, more consistent results while improving quality, that’s the path I chose.

Job by job, I documented what worked. I combined best practices with practical improvements until a system emerged—one designed for reliable, fast, and compliant work without sacrificing quality. That’s when the idea became clear:

Build Smart. Move Fast. Help More.

That principle drives everything we do. We don’t claim perfection—but we do claim ownership. We improve every day, and we build systems meant to protect the people who rely on them.
